Jim Ellis, DDS

Always happy with the care I get from Dr. Ellis and his staff. My family and I, have been going to Dr. Ellis for several years now and have always received great care.

Dr. Jim Ellis has been in the practice of dentistry for 10 years now. He grew up in Orem, Utah as the oldest of 5 children. After returning from a mission for the LDS church in Florida, he attended Brigham Young University (BYU). In 2004, he completed his dental schooling at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He then returned to Utah to practice dentistry and settle down. During his sophomore year at BYU, Dr. Ellis married the love of his life Tiffany. The two have been together for 15 years. Tiffany was a registered nurse when they got married, and has maintained her license ever since although she now stays at home to be a full time mom. Jim and Tiffany have 5 amazing children ranging in ages from 2 to 14 years old. They currently make their home in Morgan, Utah and love living up in the mountains. Their main hobby is attending all of their kid’s activities. They also enjoy boating, skiing, and running. They have competed in several races in the past including the Ogden half and full marathon.

Dr. Luis Franco - Endodontist

I had a retreat root canal done yesterday, and have had zero pain afterward. Dr. Franco has the nicest bedside manner and has the greatest skills to go along with kindness. I highly recommend using him for your endodontics!

Dr. Franco is a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as an officer. He received his degree in Flight Operations from Westminster College, DDS from the University of Utah and completed his residency in Endodontics at Boston University. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association. Dr. Franco has a passion for educating others about patient care and the incredibly interesting world of endodontics. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, swimming and learning how to play the piano and electric guitar.

Dr. Shaun Heward - Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon

I had oral surgery today. I had anesthesia and everything went perfectly. The whole team was great! Dr. Shaun Heward, the surgeon, is so caring and kind. He called me twice before my surgery to explain everything that would be done and to answer my questions. It really put me at ease.

Dr. Shaun Heward was born and raised in Sandy, Utah. He attended Alta High School and completed his undergraduate at University of Utah. During this time he worked as a dental laboratory technician making crowns and bridges. He then moved to Lexington, Kentucky where he completed dental school at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Following dental school, he began medical school at the University of Michigan Medical School. While at the University of Michigan, he also completed his internship in general surgery, residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and was a chief resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Heward has extensive surgical training in corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), tumors/cysts of the jaws, face trauma, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, cleft lip and palate, face reconstruction and bone grafting. He is delighted to have moved back to his home state of Utah and working with Platinum Dental Services. He also has a passion for serving others abroad and continues to treat less fortunate patients on mission trips overseas. When Dr. Heward is not at work he enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, biking, shooting, gardening, wood working and cooking.

Dr. Brandon Williams - Orthodontist

The orthodontist Dr. Williams and his assistant took great care of me, answered all of my questions and made sure I understood everything. I’ve never had this high quality of care with my previous dental providers.

Brandon H. Williams, DDS, is a retired US Air Force Colonel. He served four years as a General Dentist and an additional 17 years as an Orthodontist in the USAF Dental Corps.Originally from Alamosa, CO, Dr. Williams graduated from Brigham Young University in 1998 and earned his DDS from Case Western Reserve University in 2002. With an ardent passion for orthodontics, he has treated thousands of patients, catalyzing transformative changes in their smiles and bolstering their confidence.Dr. Williams provides a diverse array of services, ranging from braces, clear aligners, and palatal expansion to orthognathic surgeries.Beyond the realm of dentistry, he finds joy in spending quality time with his family and embarking on journeys of exploration through travel.

Dr. Tony Rey - Periodontist

I’m usually pretty nervous about dental work, but Dr. Rey and his team were great. He’s very gentle and took the time to answer all my questions. The office is efficient and I didn’t have to wait long. If you’re looking for a periodontist who actually listens, he’s the one.

Dr. Rey started his journey to becoming a periodontist by working as a dental assistant for a periodontist prior to starting dental school. His desire to take on a dental assisting job early in his career gave him the opportunity to learn directly in a clinical setting. Observing how an experienced clinician treated patients with genuine care and attention helped shape Dr. Rey’s understanding of what exceptional care should look like. This experience helped shape the kind of clinician he wanted to become and also helped him find a love for the surgical side of dentistry. Now, years later after earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Utah School of Dentistry, completing a 36-month Advanced Dental Education Program in Periodontics at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, and earning a Master of Science in Dentistry in Periodontics degree at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, he provides periodontal care for patients through Platinum Dental Services.
